Experience Namibia - with Skoda

It's been a few days now, but in my memory the Namibia trip with Škoda is still quite fresh and present, it was just a great tour. And I really would not have thought that this manageable little yeti remains so confident in Namibia.

With Škoda to Namibia

In this post I want to publish a few photos again and write a few words each. Otherwise it is really not difficult for me to just start writing, but in this case - with this experience - even today, weeks later, I lack an idea how I should put all of this into a post.

So let's just try a photo story 😉

The journey began for some of the participants in the travel group (all photos anonymized - for data protection reasons, etc.) with a cold shock. The reason is clear: South Africa, the first point of the journey and the transfer airport in Johannesburg, are located in the southern hemisphere and so it is currently winter “down there”. And winter in Africa means: it is really cool in the morning. Sometimes it is only 2 ° in the morning. As soon as the sun comes out, winter in Africa still means a good 25 ° in the shade. The sun does an impressive job down there. 🙂

The bus continued from Windhoek Airport - to the Windhoek Country Club. If someone has seen the Grip article with Axel Stein. The scene in which Malmedy is squatting in the “Casino” was filmed in this “Country Club”. In addition to a conference center and a hotel, the country club also houses the only casino in Namibia.

No time for games. After a soft drink, we went to the yetis waiting. 5 pieces for 8 motor journalists, bloggers, online users and whatever;). Do you see 5 yetis in the picture? Right. One Yeti was occupied by Markus, Head of Test & Technology at Škoda Auto Germany.

Short briefing before departure. In addition to the useful information that there is left-hand traffic in Namibia, we were also able to find out where our route will take us. Roughly speaking: in the circle, down and to the east first, later to the west and up to the north and back to Windhoek;).

Honestly -

- A couple of photos are nice too - but the real fascination of “Namibia” can only be conveyed by a video.

So film from:

And as luck would have it, Škoda is holding a competition until September 3rd and the main prize is a trip to Namibia - so if you feel like it, Namibia, desert, sand and adventure - you should click over quickly and participate in the competition!

Good luck!

And if you have not seen the 99 other photos from Namibia, click here for the first 33, the second 33 and third 33 photos 😉
