Aston Martin in Geneva - top versions and angel of death

At the Geneva Motor Show (9 until 19, March) there is Aston Martin sportier than ever. With the presentation of two extreme variants of the Rapide and Vantage, the British introduce the new sports label AMR. Also, the hypercar AM-RB2019 planned for 001 got a real name.

With AMR, Aston Martin is now introducing a sub-brand for future performance models. Vehicles with AMR codes mark the upper end of performance of each series. In addition, there is the label AMR Pro. These vehicles are extremely designed variants for race track use alone.

The first street-legal model with AMR identification is the four-door Rapide. Its 6,0-liter V12 engine will deliver 441 kW / 600 horsepower and allow a top speed of 338 km / h. According to Aston Martin, this is the fastest four-door in the world. Exterior features include some lime-green color accents, 21 inch wheels, front splitter, rear diffuser, four-tailpipe exhaust system, carbon fiber applications and a small spoiler lip on the boot lid. In the interior, there are carbon seats, black Alcantara and accents in lime green. From the Rapide AMR 210 vehicles are to be built.

At the same time, Aston Martin is showing the first AMR Pro model in Geneva: a Vantage optimized for race track use. The two-door wears a dramatic-looking aerodynamic dress with many carbon attachments. Most conspicuous is the mighty rear wing. The car stands on 19 inch central locking wheels. In addition, the suspension with adjustable suspension is optimized for race track use. Under the heavily slotted bonnet works an 373 kW / 507 PS strong V8 racing engine, which Aston already uses in the race car GT4. The Vantage AMR Pro is expected to produce a maximum of seven vehicles.

The Aston Martin Rapide AMR makes 600 PS and is limited to 210 copies. The Vantage AMR Pro is a pure racing vehicle, from which maximum 7 vehicles are to be built

In addition, Aston Martin has revealed in Geneva the name of his super sports car developed with Red Bull Advanced Technologies, which previously traded under the code name AM-RB001. Valkyrie is the name of the ex-athlete. The name comes from Norse mythology and stands for a kind of angel of death. The aim is for 150 copies limited and allegedly sold out hip flask a weight of 900 kilograms.
