Electricity as a drive source will also come in the future supercars not over. Aston Martin uses it discreetly.

Aston Martin did that two years ago concept car Valhalla presented. It has now become a series model that will probably be launched on the market in two years. Compared to the study, a number of visual and technical changes have been made.

When it came to the concept, there was talk of a completely new V6 petrol engine, which should provide over 1.000 hp with electrical support. But the British rejected the ambitious engine project with a view to Euro 7 and instead used the V8 power from AMG. The four-liter unit from the Mercedes performance department with double charging is expected to produce 552 kW / 750 hp. In addition, an electric motor each in the rear and on the front axle provide a further 150 kW / 204 PS, which adds up to a system output of 699/950 PS. The sprint to 100 km / h should take 2,5 seconds and the top speed should be 330 km / h. Aston Martin is confident that the Valhalla will set a new record on the Nordschleife of under 6:30 minutes.

The hip flask will also drive purely electrically, but then driven solely by the electric motor on the front axle. It allows a top speed of 130 km / h and the small battery has a maximum electric range of 15 kilometers. With the eight-speed dual clutch transmission, you could do without a reverse gear, since only an electric motor is active when reversing. This also resulted in a dry weight of 1.550 kilograms. The contact pressure of the elaborately made and at the same time visually discreet aerodynamic system is impressive, because at 240 km / h an additional 600 kilograms should press towards the ground.

Despite all the sportiness, the Valhalla also brings comfort and technology for everyday use. The equipment includes, for example, adaptive LED matrix headlights with automatic high beam, infotainment system with connectivity functions, reversing camera, two-zone automatic air conditioning and assistance systems such as collision avoidance and cruise control.
