After the sedan shows BMW now also the combination variant of the new 5er series. The Touring comes in June, barely half a year after the start of the four-door car. The price list should start at just 48.000 Euro.
The Touring is similar to the B-pillar of the sedan, thus more massive than its predecessor. Behind it then joins a thoroughly dynamic drawn Kombiheck. With 4,94 meters, the new edition is three inches longer than its predecessor, also wide, wheelbase and height have increased slightly. The maximum luggage volume increases by 30 to 1.700 liters; and even with full seating is now a little more space for cargo (570 instead of 560 liters). The maximum payload, however, is growing noticeably: by 120 up to 730 kilograms.
For the drive are initially two gasoline and diesel to choose from. Entry-level engine is a four-cylinder gasoline engine with 185 kW / 252 PS (530i), about it ranks a 250 kW / 340 PS strong six-cylinder (540i), which is coupled to four-wheel drive. Also with the diesels there is a four-cylinder, the 140 kW / 190 PS strong 520d, as well as a six-wheeler with 195 KW / 265 PS (530d), which is to have with rear or four-wheel drive.
In the technology of the station wagon is based on the sedan and moves closer to the big brother 7er. Among other things, there is a guidance assistant, which works up to 210 km / h and makes the BMW in combination with the distance control, at least on the highway to a quasi-autonomous vehicle. There is also an evasion assistant, which helps to change lanes up to 160 km / h and a side collision warning with active steering impulse. In addition, the fives can be remotely controlled with the key in hand when parking, he warns at the highway entrance to possible ghost rides and allows the booking and payment of parking spaces from the cockpit.
