BMW will be launching two special models of his i8 sports car in the coming months. In addition to the Protonic Frozen Black Edition, the Yellow Edition of the same name will also be available in the second quarter of 2017.
The most important design element in both cases is a complex exterior paint finish from BMW Individual. The Black Edition offers a matt black lacquer with a so-called ice color finish, while the Yellow Edition bears a striking yellow. This is characterized by cool, dark yellow color pigments, thanks to which the vehicle should also be easily recognizable at night. Both vehicles also have new 20-inch light-alloy wheels in a W-spoke design.
In the interior, passengers are greeted by door sills with special model lettering and by Neso seats with woven yellow and anthracite-colored seams. An i8 logo is stamped into the headrests. Ceramic applications for gear selector lever and the central control unit, gray webbing straps and an anthracite-colored headlining round off the special styling. BMW has not yet announced prices for the Frozen models of the i8. In the standard version, the i8 currently costs 130.000 euros. (Mario Hommen / SP-X)
