Bugatti Chiron Super Sport

For the vast majority of owners of a Bugatti Chiron, the top speed remains a theoretical value. Nevertheless, the VW subsidiary has now launched a version that is supposed to convey more confidence in the practically unattainable speed.

In the future, VW subsidiary Bugatti will also be offering its high-performance sports car Chiron in an aerodynamically refined and performance-enhanced version called Super Sport. The measures are intended to ensure better driving behavior beyond 400 km / h.

The most important feature of the Super Sport is a rear that has been lengthened by 25 centimeters, which is intended to decisively reduce the resulting suction and thus the wind resistance with an upwardly moved spoiler. Together with chassis modifications such as harder springs and tighter steering, as well as optimized Michelin tires, the car should remain manageable even at 440 km / h.

After a revision and thanks to the enlarged turbocharger, the 8,0-liter W16 engine has an output of 1.176 kW / 1.600 PS, which is 100 PS more than before. The sprint from 0 to 200 km / h should be possible in 5,8 seconds. According to Bugatti, the sprint from 0 to 400 km / h is seven percent shorter than the normal Chiron.

In addition to the longer body, the Chiron Super Sport can be recognized by a new tailpipe design with two superimposed double ears, special rims and exhaust holes in the front fenders. The high-speed Chiron will be available at the beginning of 2022 at prices starting at 3,2 million euros.
