Car brands in song lyrics are nothing new. But there is a special reason why more and more cars are featured in songs.
What brand of car is most often mentioned in song lyrics? The British comparison portal Uswitch investigated this question in cooperation with the music database lycris.com. After that lies Mercedes with 16.415 mentions in first place. With a clear gap (1) follows Lamborghini in second place, followed by Bentley (8.474). Ferrari came fourth (7.212), followed by Porsche (6.874), BMW (5.807), Audi (4.056), Honda (3.608), Tesla (3.3169 and Rolls Royce (2.556).
According to an analysis by Uswitch, the fact that particularly expensive brands lead the ranking has to do with the affinity of rappers for such vehicles. Since luxury vehicles are considered an expression of wealth, power and fame, they are often mentioned in song lyrics. This is what the German rapper Kollegah calls Mercedes in 33 songs. Of course, cult songs such as Janis Joplin “Mercedes Benz”, The Eagles “Hotel California” or “You Get What You Give” by New Radicals also contribute to the good results of Mercedes.
