Disintegrating Miura - Deep insights into a Lamborghini Miura

The Lamborghini Miura is one of the most beautiful automotive works of art. It is exotic and its design is unmistakable. The Miura was built from 1966 to 1975. Depending on the model, its transversely installed V12 engine delivers between 350 and 385 hp.

Normally you only see the exterior, the body. However, Fabian Oefner wanted to photograph the technical components of a Lamborghini Miura SV with his “Explosion”. A technical work of art was created. Fabian Oefner individually photographed all car parts of a Miura from 1972. Then he put them back together digitally.

Disintegrating Miura - Exploding Art

The result was the Disintegrating Miura. A sort of exploding bull from Sant'Agata Bolognese. This photographic work of art was made possible by an acquaintance of Oefner. His Miura SV was restored at the Lamborghini factory. This was the perfect timing for his exploding artwork.

Oefner's plan was to hang up and photograph each piece in a photo studio. He had to press the shutter button 1.500 times because that's how many individual parts of the Miura SV he photographed in total. Oefner worked on his Disintegrating Miura project for more than two years. The result was the Disintegrating Miura, which offers deep insights into the Italian marvel.
