Fiat Ducato facelift

Fiat has modernized the Ducato. The extensive package of measures offers parcel carriers, mobile home users and fleet operators a number of reasons to be pleased.

Fiat has now opened the order books for its Ducato van, which was modified for model year 2022. The prices for the smallest version as a panel van (L1H1 / 120 MJT) start at around 33.500 euros. The new model year can be recognized by a revised front, which bears a clearly grown Fiat lettering in the center of the radiator grille. There are also new full-LED headlight units that combine striking daytime running lights, indicators and a dipped beam that is brighter than the previous halogen spotlights.

The driver's cab has also been renovated. The steering wheel, gear lever, seat covers, upholstery, dashboard and door panels are presented in a new look. Further innovations are a digital rearview mirror, heated windscreen, a keyless entry and start system, electric parking brake, induction charging cradle for smartphones, 2-way USB A and C connections, 230 volt socket and one to the workplace or bistro dining area convertible bench. The self-leveling air suspension, which allows the loading sill to be lowered, is also practical in everyday delivery. There is also a new control unit for the automatic air conditioning and a digital instrument cluster that shows the driver information from the new top infotainment system from the Uconnect portfolio with a 10-inch touchscreen.

New services expand the possibilities of connectivity, such as the integration of real-time information about the current traffic situation or free parking spaces in the navigation system. Remote monitoring of the vehicles is also possible. Among other things, the current location can be called up or warnings about speed or driving times can be set up. It is also possible to remotely check the fuel level or lock and unlock the vehicle. The Ducato can also be upgraded with a WiFi hotspot. After all, “Fleet Manager” should make the work of fleet managers easier.

In addition, Fiat has expanded the number of available assistance systems. The arsenal now includes, among other things, distance cruise control, collision avoidance, drowsiness warning, traffic sign recognition with stop & go function as well as lane centering and traffic jam assistants.

There is a choice of four diesel engines with output levels of 120, 140, 160 and 180 hp, each of which meets the Euro 6d emissions standard. All are available with a six-speed manual gearbox, the more powerful three units can alternatively be ordered with a nine-speed automatic converter
