Almost three years after the debut, Ferrari modified its entry-level athlete. It now has a feature that was previously reserved for the larger models.
Ferrari has redesigned its entry-level sports car Portofino. The new version bears the suffix "M", has more power, a new gearbox and a race track mode.
The modified Spider is still powered by a 3,9-liter V8 petrol engine, but with 620 hp the turbo engine now delivers 20 hp more than before. In terms of power transmission, an eight-speed dual clutch transmission takes over the work of its predecessor with seven stages. For the first time in the brand's entry-level model, a "Race Mode" can also be activated, which turns down the electronic driving aids. So far, the function was only available on the brand's more powerful models.
The modernization program of the California successor, which was presented for the first time in 2017, is rounded off by slight optical retouching on the front. The Italians do not name prices; the 2 + 2-seater cost around 192.000 euros last.
