Fiat Doblò - Generation 3

Fiat has had the current Doblò in its range since 2010. Now a successor is announced. If desired, it can even be driven purely electrically.

The Fiat Pickup Truck Series Doblo there is a generation change. Instead of a genuine Fiat, as before, the new edition will be a well-known model from the Stellantis shelf, which is already available in the same design as the Peugeot Partner and Opel Combo. Like these sister models, the will be available in two lengths as a passenger car and as a commercial vehicle, also with combustion engines and with an electric drive.

Electric motor on the rise

For the car variant, electric is the only drive option. As with the identical models from other Stellantis brands, a 100 kW/136 hp electric drive provides propulsion, the 50 kWh battery is said to allow a WLTP range of up to 280 kilometers. As an alternative to the electric drive, the Cargo-Doblò will be available with a 74 kW/100 hp or 96 kW/130 hp 1,5-liter turbo diesel and with an 81 kW/110 hp 1,2-liter petrol engine.

With a long wheelbase, the Transporter variant can provide a loading volume of up to 4,4 cubic meters. Access to the rear is provided by a vertically split tailgate and a side sliding door. The payload is one ton for the versions with combustion engine, in the E-Doblò it is 200 kg less. The electrically powered delivery van variant can be equipped with a power connection in the load compartment, which can be used to operate consumers such as a refrigerator with the power from the traction battery.

More storage space, more windows

The car version of the Doblò will have two sliding doors, a one-piece tailgate and five seats. The three rear seats can be folded down individually to expand the trunk. Additional storage compartments can be found in the roof if the Magic-Top with extra windows is ordered. Other equipment options for the Doblò car include a head-up display, a folding rear window or a digital rear-view mirror.

Fiat has not yet given a market launch date or price for Germany. However, sister models such as Opel's Combo provide a guide: Here the conventionally powered cargo version starts at around 23.000 euros, for the passenger car version with electric drive it starts at around 43.000 euros.
