The Fiat Doblo is one of the bestsellers in the Italian portfolio. The high-roof estate car or delivery van, available since 2000 in the first and second generation since 2010, found over 1,4 million buyers. In the middle of the current model, the vehicle has now been optically and technically revised. As before, the Doblo is offered as a commercial vehicle (cargo) and as a car variant. The prices for the popular panel van in connection with the 70 kW / 95 hp base petrol engine start at 14.150 euros net (16.839 euros gross), for the most popular 1,6-liter diesel with 77 kW / 100 hp at least 16.450 euros Euro net (gross EUR 19.576) due. The car version costs gross from 17.600 euros. Both models are already on the market.
There are four body versions to choose from for the Doblo Cargo: panel van, station wagon for passenger transport, chassis with a flat floor and platform truck, plus lots of body and extension offers. The Fiat makers count more than 1.000 possible variations. Most orders go to the panel van. This is available in two lengths (4,41 and 4,76 meters), two wheelbases (2,76 and 3,12 meters) and two heights (1,85 and 2,13 meters). The loading volume varies between 3,8 and 5,4 cubic meters depending on the model, the maximum load is 925 kilograms. The rear doors, which open 180 degrees, make loading and unloading easy. Since the distance between the wheel arches is 1,23 meters, two Euro pallets also fit in the loading space. Objects up to 2,17 meters long (long wheelbase) can be stowed away.
The car version is available as a five- or seven-seater and is aimed at families with space requirements and a rather small budget. The trunk volume here is between 133 (seven-seater), 790 (five-seater) and 3.200 liters. In the long version, the volume even varies between 1.050 and 4.000 liters. If you like it a little more rustic in the car variant: In the "Trekking" version, which will be available from summer, the Doblo has, among other things, an electronic traction control, special bumpers, chassis with greater ground clearance, front underrun protection and two additional, large storage areas in the roof lining.
The engine range has been revised, the units have become up to 15 percent more economical. The performance spectrum for the cargo version ranges from 55 kW / 75 PS to 99 kW / 135 PS. The petrol engines, also four-cylinder, cover the power range from 66 kW / 90 PS to 99 kW / 135 PS. The petrol engines now meet the Euro 6 emissions standard, and the diesels are still classified as Euro 5+. However, the Euro 6 requirements are to be achieved during the year. The two petrol engines on offer (70 kW / 95 PS and 88 kW / 120 PS) only play a subordinate role. The bivalent natural gas drive offered in conjunction with the strongest Otto could be interesting for frequent drivers.
The interior has also been revised. However, the driver's cabin of the cargo models remains rather functional and easy to maintain. New colors are now used in the family model, the interior looks more colorful. Fiat has upgraded its infotainment range. For a surcharge, more modern systems with Bluetooth connection, 5-inch touchscreen or a tom-tom navigation system are available.
