The electric Ford Transit wants to be an all-rounder. It is available in many variants and you can go a long way with it.
The battery-electric Ford Transit will hit the market in early 2022. The E-Transit has a 198 kW / 269 hp engine E-Motor with 430 Nm and can be ordered in various construction and expansion variants as well as wheelbases and roof heights up to a permissible total weight of 4,25 tons. The 67 kWh battery allows ranges of up to 317 kilometers according to WLTP. At a fast charging station, the E-Transit draws electricity with a charging capacity of up to 115 kW.
E-Transit with two equipment variants
The electric van is offered in two equipment versions. The “Basic” comfort line includes air conditioning, the Sync4 infotainment system with 12-inch touchscreen display and heated seats and windshields. "Trend" also comes up with navigation, cruise control and helpers such as emergency brake assist with pedestrian detection and lane keepers.
Ford has not yet announced prices. The surcharge compared to the comparable models with diesel drive is likely to be around 20.000 euros. In terms of operating costs, Ford promises a clear advantage of 40 percent over the diesel models. Among other things, the lower maintenance costs are responsible for this. The guarantee for the battery and the high-voltage electrical components is eight years or 160.000 kilometers.
