14:30 p.m. in Cologne - Ken Block presents the new Ford Focus RS.
We are live for you on site and will provide you with more pictures shortly after the press conference. In advance there are only two photos from Ford for the press.
The facts in brief:
More than 320 PS. All wheel drive. Four-cylinder 2.3 liter turbo engine.
With the aggressively designed Ford Focus RS, Ford is now presenting the 30th variant of a Ford RS model under the “Ford Performance” label. The five-door Ford Focus in its sharp RS version should raise the bar for future “Hot Hatch” generations one step higher. His direct competitors come from Ingolstadt and Stuttgart. With the 2.3 liter EcoBoost turbo engine, Ford is also cutting the five-cylinder tradition. The new engine, however, should be lighter than the five-pack and thus ensure an even better weight balance.
So far, Ford had even sent 350 PS in the Ford Focus RS350 (previous model) to the front axle, so that's it now! With the new Focus RS, Ford introduces all-wheel drive for the Focus. An emphatically dynamic drive with torque vectoring control for maximum lateral performance. For the first time, Ford also offers cup sports tires for the Focus RS ex works. The Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 will then replace the normally assembled Pilot Super Sport. All around the RS is now equipped with Michelin tires in the size 235 / 35-19. With the option to fit semi-slick sports tires at the factory, Ford shows how serious they are about their own performance.
More information about the new Ford Focus RS coming soon!
Update: Yes, that was nothing with the “more information”. How many horsepower? Will it be 350 hp? Consumption (does anyone care?) And also the price - everything will remain a secret until the Geneva Motor Show. Too bad. There are only a few photos of my own left for today:
