The top-selling car in the US, 2014 was again the pick-up of the Ford F-series. Despite the upcoming model change, 753.851 customers opted for the beefy four-wheel drive, as can be seen from a survey of the website "Good Car Bad Car". Second place goes to the competitor model Chevrolet Silverado with new 529.755 registrations, Chrysler subsidiary Ram finished third with its pick-up (439.789 units).
The best-selling classic car in the US was 2014 Toyota's mid-range Camry model; 428.606 registrations were enough for overall fourth place. In general, Asians are strong: With the Honda Accord, the Toyota Corolla, the Nissan Altima and the Honda models CR-V and Civic, places five to nine go to importers from the Far East. In tenth place is the Ford Fusion, the US version of the Ford Mondeo.
The most popular car from a German manufacturer was the VW Jetta, which is ranked 160.873 with new registrations of 26. The best placement of an e-car reached the Nissan Leaf. 30.200 registrations were sufficient for rank 124. Ford was the strongest brand with 2,37 million new registrations, followed by Chevrolet (2,03 million) and Toyota (2,0 million). VW was the strongest German brand with 366.970 registrations behind Honda, Nissan, Hyundai, Jeep, Kia, Subaru, GMC and Ram, but ahead of Mercedes in 12.
