Hyundai Ioniq wins the title "Women's World Car of the Year 2017"

The Hyundai Ioniq won the “Women's World Car of the Year 2017” award and also won the “Green Car of the Year” category.

The motor journalists, including Solveig Grewe, a freelance journalist for cars, travel and lifestyle in Germany and author of my auto blog, chose the Mazda CX-5 Family Car of the Year, the Ford Fiesta Budget Car of the Year and the Peugeot 3008 SUV / Crossover of the year. The BMW 5er prevailed in the category "best luxury car". The Honda Civic Type R scored in the category "Performance Car".

The Holly Reich Dream Car Award, dedicated to one of the founding judges for the “Women's World Car of the Year,” earned McLaren its second consecutive win with the 720S. The 570S received the award in 2016.

When the results were announced, Sandy Myhre, CEO of the Women's World Car of the Year, emphasized: “The car that wins the Supreme Award has undergone a rigorous test by 25 judges from 20 different countries. The election is a democratic process and the models that have won their categories are really outstanding ”. The jury initially nominated 420 cars for the vote, 60 of which were then shortlisted. This is the eighth edition of the Women's World Car of the Year Award - the only one in which the jury is all women.
