Mercedes-Benz Media Night
On the eve of the IAA (International Motor Show), Mercedes-Benz is presenting new ideas with an outlook on the future of the automobile: With a new, innovative concept vehicle, the brand with the star shows a concrete example of the fascinating possibilities of digital product development, which at the same time exemplifies the technologically fundamental changes in the automotive industry.

The Mercedes-Benz innovations at a glance:

As a third variant after the sedan and estate, the C-Class will also be available as a coupé in the future. After the trade fair premiere in September, the two-door car will be launched at the turn of the year. The coupé should be sporty, with a lower seating position, lower chassis and more direct steering. The interior of the coupé is strongly based on the sedan, as well as on the equipment and engines.
The S-Class Cabrio, with which Daimler is expanding its S-Class family, will be an eye-catcher at the Mercedes stand. Because for the first time since 1971, Mercedes is again offering a four-seater luxury convertible. Mercedes announces its new model as the "most comfortable convertible in the world". The five-meter vehicle is always driven by an eight-cylinder gasoline engine. A 500-liter biturbo with 4,7 kW / 335 hp is used in the S 455 Cabrio, which is coupled to an automatic nine-speed system. The open S-Class is also available in an AMG version as a sporty alternative. Then the 5,5-liter biturbo of the house tuner works under the long hood, bringing it to 430 kW / 585 hp.

Mercedes is also launching a high-performance version of the C-Class Coupé. Like the sedan, the Mercedes-AMG C 63 Coupé is powered by a V8 biturbo gasoline engine. The 4,0 liter engine is available with either 350 kW / 476 PS or 375 kW / 510 PS in the model. The market launch takes place in March.

In addition to the emotional stars, the Stuttgart-based company is bringing two new models that appeal to a broader clientele: the lifted A-Class, which, along with a few visual changes, is now more comfortable. Thanks to a new entry-level gasoline engine (A160 with 75 kW / 102 PS), the compact is now cheaper, starting at 23.746 euros. As well as the GLC, which, unlike its angular predecessor GLK, nestles very well into the design language of the brand. The space in the interior has grown with the design change as well as the trunk volume. The engines - initially only three are available (125 kW / 170 PS to 155 kW / 211 PS) are up to 19 percent more economical, prices start at 44.506 euros.

For the first time, Daimler is now also offering the sporty AMG Line for a Mercedes van. The V-Class AMG Line includes, among other things, a tighter sports suspension that moves the van 1,5 centimeters closer to the road. A suspension with variable damping is optionally available. For example, a modified front apron with more distinctive air inlets and a rear apron with a diffuser look enhance the look more dynamically.
