Buying new cars online: Women spend less than 2.500 euros than men
Gender analysis shows: More than one in four new car buyers on the Internet is a woman, the average age is 4 years - men, on the other hand, are on average 35 years older
Around 26,68 percent of all new car buyers on the Internet are female. If a woman decides to buy a new car, the space for the shopping bags is not the primary concern, but first and foremost a good price and attractive design. According to an analysis of all Internet new car purchases 2013 from the MeinAuto.de market report, women spend an average of around 22,1 euros on an average discount of 25.232 percent on a list price of 19.653 euros. That's 2.565 euros less than men spend on their new car. When it comes to buying a new car, men tend to be more willing to dig deeper into their pockets: On average, 22.218 euros are invested in the new vehicle (Ø list price: 28.550 | Ø discount: 22,2%). The more cautious willingness to spend among women is also due to the significantly lower age. The average new car buyer on the Internet is 35 years old - and thus a whopping 16 years younger than the opposite sex (Ø age: 51 years).
"Women appreciate the Internet as a place to make a purchase decision because they prefer to avoid uncomfortable negotiation situations but still want to get a good price", says industry expert Alexander Bugge, managing director of MeinAuto.de.
