Jaguar C Type

Jaguar rummaged in his archives. And found plans for the 50s C-Type racing car. Now there is the old-timer as a new car.

Jaguar is celebrating the 70th birthday of the C-Type with a new edition. A total of eight copies of the 50s racing car will be built as so-called “continuation cars” and sold to collectors and fans of the brand. The model used was the Le Mans winning car from 1953, which was already equipped with disc brakes and the six-cylinder in-line engine, which had been increased to 162 kW / 220 hp. In the first edition, 53 C-Types were built, 43 went to private customers.

The manufacturer does not provide any information on the prices of the eight new vehicles. Before that, the British had already launched three other brand classics, the E-Type Lightweight, the XKSS and the D-Type as a "Continuation Car" based on old construction plans.
