Jaguar XE, XF and F-Pace - Small high-tech cure

Jaguar expands the engine range for its XE, XF and F-Pace series in spring 2017. There are also new equipment options for all three British models. The new engine variants can already be ordered, delivery will take place in May. Several four-cylinder engines from the still young Ingenium family are new. The equipment arsenal includes twin-scroll turbochargers, exhaust manifolds integrated in the cylinder head, fully variable valve control and direct injection at 200 bar. Jaguar promises, among other things, sophisticated sound culture and low consumption.

Jaguar is also expanding its engine range for the mid-size sedan XE in spring 2017

For the mid-size sedan XE, two new two-liter four-cylinder petrol engines with 147 kW / 200 hp (20 t) and 184 kW / 250 hp (25 t) are also added to the range. The former allows a sprint time of around seven seconds from a standing start to 100 km / h, while the stronger one in combination with the optional all-wheel drive is only 6,2 seconds. In addition, Jaguar has increased the output of the three-liter V6 compressor from 250 kW / 340 PS to 280 kW / 380 PS in the sporty XE S variant. Finally, there is a two-liter diesel with 177 kW / 240 hp (25d), as standard in combination with all-wheel drive. The sprint time here should be around 6 seconds, the consumption is just over 5 liters.

For the XF, the two petrol engines 20t and 25t as well as the Diesel 25d will also be added to the range. The mileage is slightly worse than that of the XE, the consumption a little higher.

The Jaguar XF also gets new units from the still young Ingenium engine family

The range of the F-Pace is expanded to include two diesels. The new base engine is a 120 KW / 163 PS four-cylinder, which in combination with a manual six-speed gearbox and rear-wheel drive is said to consume 4,8 liters. In the new F-Pace 25d with 240 hp, the engine with all-wheel drive and automatic is blocked. The same applies to the new 25t petrol variant. In addition, the well-known diesel with 132 kW / 180 hp is available for the first time in combination with eight-speed automatic and rear-wheel drive.

Jaguar is expanding its range of driving aids for all of the series mentioned. For example, there is a camera-based collision warning system that warns of cross traffic when driving out of parking spaces. The Blind Spot Warner actively countersteers if necessary. In addition, the Dynamic driving program mode allows individual settings. A 10,2-inch touchscreen with dual-view technology is also available for the infotainment system in the XF and F-Pace, which enables the driver and front passenger to see different content on the display in parallel.

The XE 20t can be ordered from around 37.000 euros, the F-Pace with the weakest diesel is available from around 43.500 euros. The XF 20t is available from 45.000 euros. (Mario Hommen / SP-X)
