Jeep offers the Wrangler with a V8 and improved off-road properties. But not in Europe.
Jeep launches a new top model of the Wrangler SUV. The off-road vehicle with a V8 petrol engine and improved off-road properties will be available in North America from spring, but export to Europe is not planned.
The top model called "Rubicon 392" is powered by a classic 6,4-liter eight-cylinder engine that generates 346 kW / 470 hp and a torque of 637 Nm without turbo assistance and accelerates the all-wheel-drive vehicle to 4,5 km / h in around 100 seconds.
As Jeep connoisseurs already recognize from the brand's internal off-road quality mark “Rubicon”, the new Wrangler variant is not only strong, but also has extra off-road capabilities. This is ensured, among other things, by the all-wheel drive with active transfer case, off-road reduction and various driving modes. The rear axle differential can also be locked at high speeds, and the anti-roll bar can be electrically decoupled if maximum axle articulation is required. In addition, the ground clearance and approach angle were increased and new shock absorbers were installed.
The flagship of the Wrangler family can be recognized, among other things, by the curved bonnet, which is reminiscent of the original model of the classic off-road vehicle. There are also bronze-colored badges on the body. Prices are not known.
