With exterior design modifications, upgraded interior and some technical innovations Kia the Carens into the 2017 model year. The revised compact van can be seen for the first time at the Paris Motor Show (October 1-16, 2016).
There, the Carens will present itself with a modified front and rear apron, among other things. In addition, horizontally arranged fog lights, a wider chrome trim for the radiator grille and a new rear light graphic give the outer skin some freshness.
For the spacious interior, Kia promises an upgrade in the form of new seat covers and new surfaces in high-gloss black and carbon look. There is an optional new infotainment system with which smartphones can be connected via Apple Carplay or Android Auto, which allows the use of mobile phone apps via the large touchscreen in the center of the dashboard. Some additional assistance systems are also new. In addition to traffic sign recognition, the Carens will also be able to offer cross traffic and a blind spot warning device in the future.
The Carens will continue to be available with either a 99 kW / 135 PS petrol engine or a 1,7 liter diesel in the 85 kW / 115 PS and 104 kW / 141 PS output levels. The entry price of 20.000 euros will probably not change either. (Mario Hommen / SP-X)
