LG's speakers are barely larger than a passport

Hardly larger than a passport, but much better sounding - an electronics company has presented what is possibly the flattest car speaker in the world.

The body of sound becomes a sound surface: the Korean electronics manufacturer LG has developed an ultra-thin loudspeaker for car interiors. At 40 grams, the 15 centimeters by 9 centimeters box weighs only a third of the usual models. The thickness of 2,5 millimeters corresponds to a tenth of the usual value. Due to its small dimensions, the loudspeaker should be able to be placed in numerous places in the vehicle - from the dashboard to the headrests. Their bodies should then amplify the sound. The technology known as the “Thin Actuator Sound Solution” and known in a similar form from OLED televisions will now be presented for the first time at the electronics trade fair CES in Las Vegas. The manufacturer does not provide information on the time of the market launch.
