LEVC e-camper

The caravan industry has had a hard time with e-mobility so far. Now the manufacturer of the London Taxi wants to bring an electric camper to the market. However, it helps with the range with gasoline.

The English taxi and delivery vehicle manufacturer LEVC wants to offer its VN5 electric van, which has just launched in Germany, as a motorhome this year at prices from 73.000 euros. The equipment of the variant baptized e-Camper includes a tilting roof, kitchenette, folding table and a two-person bench that can be moved lengthways. Thanks to its four seats and beds, the 5,23-meter-long Stromer is also suitable as a camper for the family.

Like the VN5, the e-Camper is powered by a 110 kW / 150 PS electric motor on the rear axle. Electricity is initially supplied by a 31 kWh lithium battery with a range of almost 100 kilometers. There is also a 1,5-liter three-cylinder petrol engine in the front of the vehicle, which acts as a range extender. There is no mechanical connection to the wheels. In the event of an empty battery, the combustion engine provides power for around 400 more kilometers.
