McLaren 675LT: Light and long

McLaren is adding another variant to its sports car portfolio. The 675LT model is said to be the lightest, fastest and purest in the "Super Series" family. Compared to the well-known 650S and 625C, it stands out due to its higher engine output, an extended rear and optimized aerodynamics. The mid-engine coupé celebrates its premiere at the Geneva Motor Show (5. To 15. March), with delivery scheduled to start this year.

As with the brand's other super sports cars, the number in the model name stands for performance; in this case the V8 engine comes to 496 kW / 675 PS. "LT" stands for longtail and not only indicates the extended rear, but is also a reminiscence of the racing car McLaren F1 GTR Longtail by 1997.

The British manufacturer has not yet announced prices for the new top model below the hybrid super sports car P1. The 25 PS weaker 650S already costs 255.000 euros.
