Conclusion to the driving report: Isuzu D-Max Double Cab 4 × 4

Advantages & disadvantages - conclusion:

Page 2 to the driving report of the Isuzu D-Max: [at the beginning]
For a PickUp with 4 × 4 characters, the D-Max drives very well. Of course, the big wheels with their rough profile, the high center of gravity and the chassis with a good amount of travel are not ideal ingredients to convey driving pleasure. But among its peers, the D-Max convinces with solid straight-line running and acceptable side inclination. There are also small cars that convey less feeling for the road.

Prices and equipment

Single cabin, large single cabin with second seat but only two doors or as double cab with four doors. The D-Max is a classic pick-up and can be combined according to its intended use with more interior space or more cargo area.

While the single cab is not available with the 5-speed automatic and is only available with the “basic equipment”, with the double cab you can choose between manual transmission and automatic as well as between three equipment versions. Anyone who has opted for a pick-up from the family of commercial vehicles should also treat themselves to the premium equipment. For € 35.550, the D-Max is then equipped like the test car in my photos. For 35.550, the somewhat sluggish automatic, but well suited to the pick-up character, is also included. In addition, the lockable tailgate is only available in conjunction with the premium equipment.

Driving report: ISUZU D-Max Double Cab automatic 4 × 4

The conclusion:

Tougher covered wagon successor

The D-Max is a real pragmatist for people who are primarily looking for utility instead of show & shine. Anyone planning to settle on a prairie is well advised to look for a sturdy guy like the Isuzu D-Max, who doesn't shy away from hard work and convinces with the talents of a modern covered wagon.
