Unu: E-mobility can look so sexy

Our cities continue to grow. Living and working forms are changing and meanwhile people do not just want to be well connected, but also more mobile. As a result, the urban population is constantly on the move. At the same time, the range of transport services is changing: bicycle and scooter rental and car-sharing systems are emerging. The offers of public transport providers are being increasingly integrated. All this makes it easier for people in cities to use the different means of transport more flexibly to get from A to B. Of course, companies want to be involved in urban mobility and always develop clean ways to get through the urban urban jungle.

Sexy e-mobility with unu

Unu Motors is also a company that specializes in electric scooters and has been selling them for a few years. Already a few years ago I tested an e-scooter from emco and since then I've had the e-scooter fever. But so far the street car was always too expensive. That would like to change now unu Motors and has not only turned on the price, especially in terms of the battery, but also brings the retro style back on the road. Already four years ago, the company, originally from Munich, launched the first electric scooters for the ridiculous price of 1700 Euro. About 70 different color options and three engine variants were available for the nearly 60 kilo light unu to choose from. But soon it was agreed: Less is more and the first facelift for the little car was on. In the middle of last year there were about 56 changes that further adapted the little electric car to European tastes. A reliable Bosch engine was installed as well as new tires Made in Heidenau, Germany. Even the colors have been reduced, which present themselves today in seven stylish colors, including in Matt. Our test scooter fulfilled all girl dreams. In Matt-Rosé it went quietly and only 58 kilogram fighting weight across Hamburg. The battery with 3000 Watts and in 12 seconds from 0 to 45 km / h delivered what it promises: almost 50 kilometers range and a load time of 4 hours.

With the power of many cars was left at the traffic lights, until he had reached his speed and was overhauled again. Nevertheless, it is fast enough for the city, especially if it can meander around traffic jams. He does this with an elegance that makes every motorist look longingly behind. So, for a stretch of 13,6 kilometers, which would normally take 45 minutes by car or train, it was easy to travel in 30 minutes. Casual summer feeling included. Down the hill it even reached 48 km / h per hour and then it stopped. Uphill you had to bring a little patience, even if he should pack according to the manufacturer a maximum slope of 24% loose. What he does not like are cobblestones, and there are plenty of them in Hamburg. Since both the suspension and the connector between scooter and battery hard put to the test. Quite apart from the driver. Once the power supply was cut off and the scooter rolled along the street without juice. Possibly, but also the plug was too loose of me wired, because actually the battery is stuck in it. After another short plug-in it was already fast. With only nine kilos, you can take the battery relaxed after his ride from the Un e-scooter and connect to the domestic socket. It takes him two hours to load up to 70% and only four to exhaust his full capacity. In addition, the "Kinetic Energy Recovery System (KERS)" when braking, energy back into the battery. It can be up to 10%. That's about 5 km, which you can then feed back into his battery. But the brakes want to be learned. If you access too hard, you will jump forward in your seat. With feeling is the motto here. If you want you can afford two rechargeable batteries and increase the range up to 100 kilometers. One small disadvantage: the battery has to be replaced manually. In the competition work is the two batteries at the same time. But should a replacement battery ever be needed, unu Motors has a decisive advantage over all other manufacturers: the battery is affordable. With only 690 Euro you are there. In addition, the Munich-based company based in Berlin also thought the entire topic of recycling to an end.

 

To the end thought: battery recycling

Used unu electric scooter batteries are recycled in cooperation with GRS batteries or used as energy storage for regenerative energy systems. This is how the cities benefit from it sustainably. But first I benefited from the driving pleasure and the envious views of all other road participants. Well, e-mobility can look so sexy, ladies and gentlemen. If you want to take a passenger with you, you are welcome to do so: Two helmets can be attached to the outside and finished with the seat. Unfortunately, we have not been able to try this, but even there, the envious glances should be safe. Who wants to get a box, which is not available from the factory to buy, to take more on his tour.

And finally ... The summer can come! With a unu e-scooter you are not only very stylish on the move, but also in a very good mood. The great matt paintwork brings a breath of fresh air to the e-mobility market and shows that e-scooters can look really chic. A unu electric scooter is also impressive in terms of price: the great city runabout with 1.799 watts is available from 1000 euros. If you want more, you have to dig deeper into your pocket, of course, but there is monthly financing that makes the small e-scooter affordable for a small budget. Another advantage that unu Motors offers. In addition, there are only 80 cents for every 100 kilometers of running costs. In just a few weeks, the little speedster will be delivered with DHL in a box directly to the front door and, with its dimensions of 170 cm in length, 103 cm in height and 130 cm in width (with removable mirrors), fits easily into a bicycle box. The heart was heavy when I had to give the speedster back, but surely a new unu e-scooter will soon be found on our street, with the feeling of “want to have” that the unu triggered in everyone, absolutely no wonder .
