With the best weather, the VLN ushered in the hot phase of the 2013 season on Saturday. In training, an unleashed Uwe Alzen with a 8: 01,069 sets a new lap record and if you listen to Uwe Alzen, it is even faster. Will the 8 minute mark fall this year? If the following two final runs could start under similar good weather conditions, that would be conceivable.
45. ADAC Barbarossa price
One of the audience favorites, “the fat one” from Team Manthey, was in second place after training, behind the new record lap holder Alzen. The raging meatball with Abbelen, Schmitz and Huismann followed in third place. Team MARC VDS brought two BMW Z4 GT3s to the seventh race of the season and at the wheel of the # 25 was Martin Maxime and Nicky Catsbury. The second VDS Z4 with the # 26 was driven by Bas Leinders and Henri Moser.
Had a good laugh after the race. Sabine Schmitz, Klaus Abbelen and Patrick Huismann.
4 hours of racing action
The pole position did not help the GT3 T4 by Uwe Alzen much, still in the first corner after the start and finish the Manthey Porsche missed the pole setter on the inside. Jochen Krumbach was at the wheel during the starting phase.
In the best weather conditions, the “usual suspects” fought an exciting fight in the top classes. The team MARC VDS secured the happier end, while the frenzied meatball crossed the finish line in second place.
The surprise of the race is likely to have delivered the McLaren from Dörr Motorsport, with 3rd place the English GT3 athlete achieved his best VLN result. Saturday was just as pleasant for the second Alzen in the Eifel. Jürgen Alzen's H&R Spezialfedern Ford GT came in fourth. After Uwe Alzen's record lap in the Z4 and the following racing bad luck (failure after 4 hours in the Eschbach area) it was probably a Saturday on which luck was evenly distributed.
The luck of one also always means the bad luck of the other. The success of MARC VDS is also based on one of the rare failures of the “fat”. So far, there has been talk of a damage in the drive train, I hope Manthey will respond to one of my inquiries and tell you whether there were problems with the 4.4 liter boxer - or whether it was more of a banal penny problem. Because a failure in the “Hedwigshöhe” area in the last lap led to the loss of the lead that had been gained up to now.
Even with little luck on the road: The Twinbusch Audi R8 GT3 LMS even remains within sight of the GrandPrix track with a technical defect and that - only seconds before the end of the race. So far, the only Audi R8 LMS that has taken part in the seventh VLN run was in a great third place.
An 30-minute summary of the 45. Sport 1 shows the ADAC Barbarossa price on 5. October at 18.
