A little bit more is always possible: VW now offers its SUV Touareg with a powerful eight-cylinder. It not only drives up the torque quite a bit.
After its premiere at the Geneva Motor Show in spring is now the 310 kW / 421 PS strong Touareg V8-TDI ordered. For the new top engine, which is always coupled to an eight-speed automatic and four-wheel drive, interested parties must invest at least 89.825 euros. That's about 28.000 Euro more in the previous top model, the six-cylinder gasoline engine with 250 kW / 340 PS.
The 4,0-liter eight-cylinder provides torque of 900 Nm. The sprint from 0 to Tempo 100 km / h succeeds in 4,9 seconds, the maximum speed is limited at 250 km / h. The average consumption is VW with 7,4 liters. Up to 3,5 tons can be hooked.
Included in the price of just under 90.000 Euro include air suspension, 19-inch Alus, navigation system, leather seats and an electrically opening and closing tailgate. In addition to the sporty R-Line equipment and many assistants are on the option list. These include, for example, support for night driving with a thermal imaging camera, traffic jam and construction site helpers working up to Tempo 60 km / h or a head-up display.
