New cars with discount?

With each test vehicle, I ask myself what the car will cost new. Of course you know the list price and of course you have a rough idea of what the car - with the extras - will cost at the dealer.

But what else is there about the price? How far can one negotiate with the dealer? First aid is of course to take a look at one of the Internet automobile exchanges. Because not only used cars have been offered for a long time, but also new cars and you get a good feeling for the “realistic market price” very quickly.

And yet - if you want to know what really needs to be “done” at the price, you have to run to your dealer and talk to him about it. But actually that's just an annoying time wasting. Both for the dealer and for me - as a buyer.

For several years, there are new car exchanges on the Internet. Some portals are closely involved with large publishing houses and others even operate real branches in addition to an online showroom.

So if I want to know what the test car just driven costs on the market - realistically - I go to the new car portal pages to search.

I particularly noticed the page: “Rabatt-auto.de”

But you have to say, there are portals that are better opened. A lot of gray in gray and too many blurry and small vehicle photos. Here you could still spice up vigorously at some points of the portal design.

However, I have less to complain about in terms of prices. Because as I have been able to determine with models like the Honda Civic, the Mitsubishi ASX or the Audi A3 (previous model), the cheapest market price was always on the website of rabatt-auto.de.

Now I haven't ordered a car there - because thanks to my work as an engine blogger, I have no shortage of new vehicles - but - if I had to go to a dealer again to negotiate the new car price, I would at least know what the realistic market price is for the vehicle is.

And if the local dealer doesn't want to go with you, then I would probably also buy online. Because in the end, only vehicles are “brokered” in these online portals that were intended for the German market, i.e. no RE imports and the contractual partner is then a dealer in Germany.

For my test car assessments, I always look up what the “market price” is for the vehicle and whoever wants to find out whether their next new car is not being offered cheaply and safely on the Internet - they should really check out the auto stock exchanges look around the internet. My tip: discount car.de
