News: Citroen Berlingo Multispace - closer to the car

With the second revision Berlingo donated Citroen its high-roof combination more comfort, more safety and less consumption. However, the price of the 4,38 meter long and 1,80 meter tall Frenchman is not rising: starting from 17.600 Euro, there is the passenger car variant Multispace.

Externally, the Berlingo has not changed anything essential: a little aerodynamic refinement and a new cooler section, two new colors, on request LED daytime running lights. In the interior, the fine tuning has improved the ergonomics, the all-round visibility has become even better. There are more new features in the revised diesel engines. Even the basic diesel engine BlueHDi 100 (73 kW / 99 PS, from 21.350 Euro) goes with his 254 Newtonmeter torque neat to the point. The compact Frenchman makes no secret of his origins, but drones considerably less than its predecessor HDi 90, which may continue to hum only in the commercial vehicle variant. The consumption is specified by the manufacturer with 4,2 liters. As an alternative to the standard five-speed gearbox, there is an automated six-speed gearbox for a moderate 1.000 Euro surcharge (including start-stop system).

The diesel program is complemented by the more powerful BlueHDi 120 with 88 kW / 120 PS, which offers significantly better performance, but with 4,3 liters only little more fuel needed. The 1,6-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine with 72 kW / 98 PS or 88 kW / 120 PS are only briefly in the program and will be replaced in the coming year by more modern 1,2-liter three-cylinder with up to 81 kW / 110 PS.

In the dashboard, the usual Citroen car technology has now arrived: seven-inch touch screen, navigation with bird's-eye view, Bluetooth hands-free, radio control and mirroring of smartphone apps via mirror screen. In addition, there is now also a reversing camera and a parking aid in front (City Package in Selection for 550 Euro). From November, there will also be an active City Brake Assist, which detects obstacles such as vehicles ahead and automatically brakes the Berlingo up to a speed of 30 km / h.
