If you think of coordination trips in one Jaguar, the association of gravel crunching under the wheels in front of a mansion is obvious. Because the traditional British brand wants to conquer new terrain with the SUV F-Pace, the developers also have to walk or drive off the beaten path, in the literal sense: for the first time, a Jaguar model was also tested on graveled mountain passes. With the limousines, convertibles or sports cars that the company has produced so far, the exchange of gravel for gravel is not necessary.
So when the new Jaguar SUV celebrates its premiere at the IAA in September, it will not only have passed the usual tests, for example under very cold and very hot conditions in Arjeplog in northern Sweden or the desert city of Dubai. Jaguar said it was one of the “toughest testing programs in the company's history”. The all-wheel drive, which comes on the market in 2016, is to compete against models such as Porsche Macan or BMW X3 and relies on lightweight construction and dynamic design.
