As part of a facelift, the Mercedes M class a new name. The Stuttgart-based company has now thoroughly overhauled its GLE-class SUV, for example with plug-in hybrid drive and more safety and comfort features. For the first time, the basic variant has rear-wheel drive, so the GLE 250 d, whose diesel engine continues to produce 150 kW / 204 hp, costs 53.967 euros.
With plug-in hybrid drive, the new GLE is priced at € 73.900. The GLE 500 e 4matic combines V6 petrol engines (245 kW / 333 hp) and electric motor (85 kW / 116 hp). Together, the units have a system output of 325 kW / 442 hp and a torque of 650 Newton meters. The prices of the other petrol and diesel engines are a few hundred euros above the previous models.
Based on the new full-size SUV, Mercedes now has a BMW X6 competitor in its product portfolio with the GLE Coupé. The mezzanine coupe costs at least 66.700 euros. You get the GLE 350 d (190 kW / 258 hp) with sports seats, 20-inch wheels, a tailgate with electrical actuation for opening and closing, all-wheel drive, reversing camera and a crosswind assistant. The significantly more powerful GLE 400 (245 kW / 333 hp, 67.235 euros) is on the list for a relatively small surcharge.
The GLE 63 and GLE 63 S are sporty spearheads. The 5,5-liter eight-cylinder with 410 kW / 557 PS or 430 kW / 585 PS is used here. This force is restrained by a special high-performance braking system. A sports suspension, a sports exhaust system and AMG seats are also always on board.
