News: New Lamborghini SUV - It aims high

When 2018's new luxury SUV Lamborghini comes onto the market, the new series should bring momentum into the traditional brand. The sports car manufacturer wants to open up new target groups with the luxury SUV. In addition to existing customers who have previously driven SUVs from other brands, the Italians are also keeping an eye on families and other new customer groups. The main markets for the SUV are the USA, China, the Middle East, Great Britain, Germany and Russia. Lamborghini anticipates annual sales of around 3.000 units. The new series would thus roughly double the current sales figures (worldwide sales in 2014: 2.530 units).

The company puts the total investment in the third series at a high three-digit million amount. Among other things, the plant at the headquarters in Sant'Agata Bolognese in Italy will be expanded with a new assembly line, new warehouses and more research capacity: the built-up area will increase from the current 80.000 square meters to around 150.000 square meters. The new SUV creates around 500 new jobs at Lamborghini.
