Polestar 2 electric sedan

In 2020, the Polestar 2 was initially introduced in a rather expensive launch edition. Now the Swedish performance brand is splitting the offer and reducing the entry price significantly thanks to the new basic version.

Customers in Germany can now order the Polestar 2 electric sedan in three drive versions. With the introduction of a new basic version, the entry-level price of the series drops to around 42.000 euros. For this money there is the single-engine variant with 165 kW / 224 PS and a smaller 64 kWh battery for a range of 420 to 440 kilometers. Alternatively, the Polestar 2 can be ordered for 3.000 euros extra with a 170 kW / 231 hp motor and 78 kWh battery for a range of 515 to 540 kilometers. The same battery in the 300 kW / 408 hp top version “Dual Motor”, which costs around 48.000 euros, is enough for 450 to 480 kilometers.

The standard equipment of every Polestar 2 includes 19-inch alloy wheels, an infotainment system with an 11-inch touchscreen, a digital key integrated into the Polestar app, front and rear parking beeps and a reversing camera. There are three optional equipment packages to choose from. The performance package, which includes Öhlins dampers, Brembo brakes and 6.000-inch wheels, costs 20 euros. The € 4.500 plus package includes a panoramic glass roof, an audio system from Harman Kardon and heaters for all seats and the steering wheel. For 3.000 euros there is the pilot package with a range of assistance systems such as cruise control and the pixel LED headlights.

Orders for the Polestar 2 can currently only be placed online. From September the vehicle will be exhibited in showrooms in Germany and ready for test drives. The first customer cars will be delivered in October.
