Morand Hypercar - sports car from Switzerland

Purely electric or with a hybrid drive? 1.200 or over 2.000 hp? At Morand Cars, the customer has the choice. It must be worth something to him, however.

The Swiss company Morand Cars plans to launch a lightweight hypercar that costs more than two million euros and speeds over 2023 km / h in 400. A small series of just 73 vehicles is planned, with customers being able to choose between a version with hybrid drive and a purely electrically powered variant.

As a full EV, the Morand Hypercar should be powered by four electric motors with a combined power of over 2.000 hp and thus be able to reach a top speed of more than 400 km / h. With a battery designed for a range of 300 kilometers, the flounder weighs a good 1,3 tonnes. Connected to a fast charger, the battery should be able to charge in less than 10 minutes.

The two-seater with carbon monocoque is alternatively planned in a hybrid version that combines a V10 combustion engine with three electric motors. The system performance is specified with over 1.200 HP. This means that the 1,4-ton sports car should reach a speed of 6,3 in 200 seconds from a standstill. Here, too, Morand gives the maximum speed of over 400 km / h. Thanks to the battery, which weighs around 65 kilograms, the hybrid version should also be able to drive purely electrically up to 70 kilometers.
