Netherlands with the most electrical outlets

IIn four EU countries, e-car drivers can fall back on a decent charging infrastructure. In others there are hardly any sockets.

The Netherlands are European champions when it comes to charging infrastructure. The European car manufacturers association ACEA has a total of 66.665 publicly accessible electricity tap points in the small coastal country. France follows in second place with 45.751 charging points, ahead of Germany with 44.538.

Apart from the top three, only Italy and Sweden have a five-digit number of charging points within the EU. In Southeastern Europe in particular, the e-car infrastructure is still almost completely lacking. In Malta, for example, there are a total of 96 charging points, in Lithuania 174 and in Bulgaria 194. A total of 224.237 connections for charging with electric cars are available in the EU, 11 percent of which are fast chargers.
