NISMO Spirit in the Green Hell - Nissan at the 24 hour race at the Nürburgring

The first car of my own, that was probably like many others - no Porsche, no Ferrari, no Lamborghini and no other top-class sports car. It was a golf. In my case it was a GTI of the first series - but it could also have been a Golf Diesel, or the family station wagon or whatever, the only important thing was: finally driving a car.

This lively, throbbing, woken, fascination automobile.

Anyone who lets themselves be infected by the fascination of the car primarily needs four wheels and less pure sports car violence. You see it in a similar way at Nissan with the “spirit” of the NISMO models.

NISMO - The special spirit for car nuts!

In Germany, Nismo is not really a household name yet, but that is about to change and so that one does not give the impression that NISMO is just another empty phrase for sports cars, the Japanese automobile manufacturer Nissan is addressing the “spirit” of NISMO models not to be passed on from top to bottom, but from the “base” up to the top sports cars.

The first NISMO model in Germany was the NISSAN Juke Nismo, now follows the 370Z NISMO. Once I've driven this 370 Z Nismo, I'll tell you a little more about it.

At the Nürburgring it is already a good tradition that the Japanese manufacturer Nissan faces the challenge of 24-hours racing. Since 2013 is no exception and after last year with two more of the Series corresponding models At the start was 2013 GT-R GT3 regulations in use.

In the morning before the race I had the opportunity to exchange a few words with Michael Krumm, the interview can be found on youtube:

[You will be able to read more about the press conference mentioned in the video and about the NISMO spirit in particular in the coming days.]

In addition to the powerful, beefy GT-R that is used according to GT3 regulations, there is also a 370Z that is used as a “rolling speaker booth”. The special thing about this? You can read about this with Sebastian from passion: driving, because he is a live blogger at the event.

Nissan lives the idea of sustainable motorsport and is full of conviction only at motorsport events at the start, which live a real audience and are not just pure marketing events.

Thomas Hausch nissan europa managing directorThe new managing director Nissan Europe emphasized this at the NISMO events at the Nürburgring and he also had a suitable comparison at hand: “A brand's motorsport commitment must not wither into empty concrete shells in the end”. I have now interpreted this very freely - I just want to say this much: I really believe: Nissan lives the “spirit” of  "Motorsport you can touch" and does not feel responsible for supporting pure marketing show series. Cool!
