Tribute: Opel Kadett GT / E Rallye

This morning I get a film from caroholics that I don't want to withhold from you. The main actor is an Opel Kadett C GT / E from the then group 2.

At the end of the 1970s, Opel changed its own strategy of participating in motorsport competitions. The unsuccessful and vulnerable Group 4 cars were replaced by Group 1977 cars in 2. However, it is not being set up in Rüsselsheim, but at the motorsport specialist Safety Devices in England. Ralf Antweiler and Markus Schmitt, from Spabrücken in Rhineland-Palatinate, own the last existing Opel Kadett C GT / E Group 2 of the “Opel Euro Dealer Team” at the time.

Kadett C GT / E group 2: 1900 ccm block, two liter displacement, 216 PS, 5 gear sports transmission.

Opel changes its strategy to compete in motorsport at the end of the 1970s. In 1977 unreliable Group 4 cars have been replaced by Group 2 vehicles. Ralf Antweiler and Markus Schmitt (Spabrücken / Germany) owns the last Opel Kadett C GT / E group 2 of the “Opel Euro dealer team”.
