Completed with a plug-in hybrid version Porsche the drive range of the Panamera. As an 340 kW / 462 PS strong Panamera 4 E-Hybrid, the luxury sedan that can be ordered now costs at least 107.553 Euro. The delivery starts in April.
As with its predecessor, the Eco-Panamera is supposed to reduce CO2 fleet emissions with a connection between the electric motor and the V6 petrol engine. The new 2,9-liter biturbo engine, which produces 243 kW / 330 hp in the hybrid model, is used as the combustion engine. In conjunction with the 100 kW / 136 hp electric motor, the Panamera has a total output of 340 kW / 462 hp. The 46 more horsepower compared to the predecessor should not, however, cause additional consumption. On the contrary: with a - due to its design very theoretical - standard consumption of 2,5 liters per 100 kilometers (56 grams CO2 / km), the new one undercuts the old one by a good half a liter. The electric range is specified by the manufacturer as 50 kilometers, which qualifies the sedan for the state subsidy programs in most markets. The predecessor with its 36 kilometers already reached its limits in this regard.
But it is not only in the technical data that the two Panamera generations differ, the division of labor between the two engines has also been realigned based on the model of the 918 Spyder super sports car. So the electric motor does not only switch on the accelerator pedal after a hard step, but sends its power to the wheels for an additional turbo effect across the entire speed range. In addition, it also ensures an increased maximum speed; that is now at 278 km / h, previously it was over at 270 km / h. Of course, the driver can specify a center of gravity for the drive so that the engine double acts either particularly efficiently or particularly powerfully. It is also possible to charge and protect the battery for a later purely electric drive. Both engines transmit their power to all four wheels, this is mediated by an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, which replaces the eight-speed torque converter automatic transmission of its predecessor.
However, the Panamera driver only comes close to the low standard consumption values with a fully charged battery. The liquid-cooled 14,1 kWh battery charges from a normal socket in just under six hours. If you order the optional 7,2 kW charging technology, you can disconnect it from the charging station after 3,6 hours.
In the current Panamera portfolio, the 4 E-Hybrid with its almost 108.000 Euro is the cheapest model. Above that, the 324 kW / 440 PS strong V6 model Panamera 4S (113.027 Euro), the Panamera Turbo with 404 kW / 550 PS (153.011 Euro) and the Panamera 4S Diesel are the only diesel engines (310 kW / 422 PS, from 116.954 Euro). The subsequently submitted basic models are likely to push the entry-level price into the series below the 100.000 euro mark, so that the top rank of the hybrid as the cheapest Panamera is of limited duration.
