Anyone who belongs to the small circle of space pilots will be able to show this with their car in the future: the Range Rover will be available in a night sky-blue edition of astronauts.
SP-X / Kronberg. A new special model of the Range Rover is available exclusively for space travelers. The “Astronaut Edition” of the luxury SUV, which is managed by the in-house finishing department, may only be purchased by future customers of the private space company Virgin Galactic. The all-wheel drive is painted in the special color "Gravity Blue", which is supposed to remind of a night sky. Parts of a virging spacecraft are installed in the cup holder, a star map is on the lid of the storage compartment in the center console and star constellations are engraved in the door handles.
A 297 kW / 404 PS strong plug-in hybrid drive and a 5,0 liter V8 petrol engine with 386 kW / 525 PS are available for the drive. The British automaker does not name prices, but there is money among the targeted customers. Virgin’s suborbital flights are expected to cost around a quarter of a million US dollars.
