Very chic and with modern convenient features the Captur drives since mid 2013 on German roads. His origin from the House of Renault, the crossover with the rhombus in the brand logo does not want to conceal. On the contrary, his beautiful front leads him visually even closer to Twingo, Clio and Megane. However, not only as a chic crossover, but also as a vehicle with high utility value. The price list starts at 15.390 Euro.
Chic crossover with eye-catching qualities

Crossover of the Renault family
The Captur is what is commonly understood by a crossover. Its very appealing appearance shows the exclusively five-door model available vehicle in the sporty look of the Renault family. The crossover offers with a completely newly developed suspension and a very good, much more precise steering a confident driving experience.
In the first tests of the Energy dCi 90, we noticed that the Captur potholes and bumps on the road is very good, overall very stable and provides a comfortable ride. Thanks to its compact dimensions, it gets along well in dense city traffic. The increased ground clearance of 170 mm qualifies him just as well for driving on dirt roads and gravel roads. He also masters motorway routes comfortably, which makes the vehicle an all-round carefree package.
The 90-PS diesel with savings potential
Completely newly developed gasoline and diesel engines with three or four-cylinder turbo direct injection are used under the hood. The 0.9 Eco Direct Injection Turbo sets new standards for three-cylinder engines in this displacement class. The all-aluminum engine with infinitely variable oil pump and Energy Smart Management is available in a power level with 90 HP and Start & Stop technology.
All units meet the Euro 5 emissions standard, whereby the 90 hp diesel version with the Start & Stop system should only consume 3,6 liters per 100 kilometers, which corresponds to just 95 grams of carbon dioxide per kilometer. We come very close to the manufacturer's specifications during our test drive. Both the 1,2 liter gasoline engine with 120 hp and the 90 hp diesel engine without Start & Stop technology can be delivered with a 6-speed dual clutch transmission (EDC), which promises high shift comfort.
The diesel engines each deliver powerful 220 Newton meters of torque from as little as 1750 revolutions per minute.
Design with style and taste
The designers of France have integrated the look of the crossover with fluid shapes and small details in Renault's design philosophy. The designed front with its elegant headlights and the distinctive rhombus are a feast for the eyes. The large taillights visually stretch the rear and leave the vehicle wide on the road.
Inside, a vehicle length of 4,12 meters can accommodate up to five people. The cabin convinces with good material and workmanship, even when working exclusively with hard plastic. The clearly designed cockpit with long horizontal lines and the navigation system as an eye-catcher also ensures a generous sense of space. A broad and well thought out customization of exterior and interior features such as the city package Plus are available in the new Captur. For entry-level price of 15.390 Euro is the Captur Expression as sporty cut five-door with 0,9-liter petrol engine to have. For a surcharge of 1.900 Euro, the customer receives the very sovereign acting diesel.
The Captur already has a rich equipment from the factory. The basic version "Expression" features a keyless keyless start system, the height and depth-adjustable steering wheel, the tempo pilot with speed limiter, on-board computer and a very useful Hill Start Assist. In the medium equipment variant "Dynamique" a manual air conditioning system and an audio system with Bluetooth® interface as well as USB and jack connection are on board. In addition, there are fog lights, steering wheel and gear lever knob in leather and 16-inch alloy wheels.
The top version "Luxe" is also equipped with new, removable and washable fabric covers (Zip Collection), climate control, light and rain sensor and the integrated multimedia system Media-Nag with 7-inch touch screen color monitor.
17-inch alloy wheels and the bi-color paintwork with A-pillars, roof and exterior mirror housings in three different colors ensure a striking look. Fog lights with integrated dynamic cornering lights increase active safety.
The extra charge of Expression to Dynamique with € 2.200 and from Dynamique to Luxe from € 1.700 we find in relation to what is offered, as justified.
Conclusion: Renault is doing a lot to meet customer requirements
Renault wants to meet the growing demands of its customers with the R-Link system, also available in other models. This multimedia system with online access can be operated conveniently and easily via the 7-inch touchscreen as well as by steering wheel remote control or voice control. The Renault R-Link uses TomTom® navigation with LIVE Service as standard, which includes the current traffic data in the route calculation almost in real time. The customer also receives suggestions for reducing consumption by analyzing the vehicle with its electronics and networked software. It can be downloaded from the Renault R-Link Store. The spectrum ranges from offers for calling up emails, calendar management, parking and petrol station searches through to tweeting. While you have to put a surcharge of € 990 on the counter with the “Dynamique” equipment variant, only € 590 is due for the “Luxe” equipment.
