A historic day for all women in Saudi Arabia. You no longer have to take a seat in the front passenger seat, but can finally get behind the wheel yourself. What is taken for granted in other countries was strictly forbidden in the Arab Kingdom for religious reasons and was punished with imprisonment. Now the king has lifted the ban after decades of protests by women's rights activists. These days, the first women’s tickets are being issued in Saudi Arabia. Since June 24.06th they can officially be on the roads of the country.

To celebrate Jaguar's “World Driving Day”, Saudi racing driver Aseel Al Hamad did a lap in a Jaguar F-Type. “That was a first, I've never driven myself in my home country,” beamed Aseel, who has loved cars since childhood. That is why she wholeheartedly supports Jaguar's appeal to car fans of all genders to share their best experiences behind the wheel with others on the first World Driving Day via #worlddrivingday.

Jaguar Land Rover spokeswoman Fiona Pargeter emphasized at the event how easy it is to forget what a privilege and what a joy it is to be able to sit behind the wheel of a car. “Jaguar wants to celebrate this privilege for men and women every year with World Driving Day”. She is particularly pleased that Jaguar Land Rover can now include the University of Saudi Arabia as an official partner in its network for the exchange of information on future mobility solutions.
