The Czechs' cars are above all loyal companions. No painterly blenders, but automobiles to live, cars for everyday life. And that's how I understand the Rapid Spaceback.
Of course there are things that you can miss on the spaceback and no one understands why the SEAT Leon first got the LED light in the group, or why Škoda customers are expected to use the small navigation system. But it would probably be a spaceback with full LED headlights and the large navigation multimedia system from the current golf, just too perfect.
Cheaper - not worse
The tactic should work. With the Spaceback, the Czechs in the VW group offer the inexpensive golf counter model. This is no worse than the current Golf, at least if you don't compare the chassis of the two head-to-head and don't fight with your heart for a better feel in the interior. Lots of space, good design, clever ideas and all of this with a fair price on the label. This is the group alternative that goes against Koreans and Europeans in this segment to catch customers.

Criticism:
Above all the decision, the customer the big one 8-inch multimedia system I think it's wrong to refuse, but it probably shows how close the fight for customers in the golf segment is. The hard plastic used in the cockpit area is optically perfectly fine, only the contact with the fingertips is disappointing. You can live with that if you keep the price difference to the Primus in mind. What is not nice are the partly sharp hard plastic edges in the front door pockets.

The choice of engines and transmissions is still very limited. DSG is currently only available for two engines.

And finally ...
Clever golf alternative
If you like the clean and cool design of the Czechs, you now have a completely new alternative in the compact car segment. Lots of space at a fair price - somehow nothing new for a Škoda, but in the form of the hatchback rapid a golf opponent without a price handicap.
