The Picasso PS-01 - super light and super fast

Typical products from Switzerland are watches, cheese, pocket knives and chocolate, but a car with 600 hp that weighs only 900 kilograms? You can usually count the cars from the neighboring country on your fingers, but when a car is put on the market there, like all other products, it is something very special. Now, Stefano Picasso, the founder of Picasso Automotive, is showing the first pictures of his supercar.

The Picasso PS-01: Superlatives Swiss Made

The Picasso PS-01 consists mostly of carbon fiber, which explains the low weight of only 900 kilograms. The drive is taken over by a twin-turbo V6, which has an Italian origin and 600 hp. The manufacturer makes very modest promises that it is the "craziest carbon car of all time". Picasso already showed the first sketches of the car on his YouTube channel in summer 2020, now there are the first photos of the production of the prototype. The body of the sports car is made entirely of composite materials and carbon. The whole thing was developed by a young start-up company from Ticino. A 3,20 meter long carbon fiber plate was used, the longest that has ever been used for a car.

The Picasso PS-01: Technologies from all over the world

The Picasso PS-01 is an international car. The design comes from Roberto Curtò, but it is not yet known which Italian manufacturer is behind the unit. Rumors have it that it is Alfa Romeo. The gearbox was contributed by the French company Sadev, Sabelt supplies the seats and the brakes come from the German tuner Carbo Brake from Frankfurt. Öhlins Racing AB is responsible for the suspension of the wheels and 3D Beta from Italy has taken over the equipment of the workshop.

The Picasso PS-01 - only in limited series

What makes the Picasso PS-01 so special is the know-how from motorsport. In addition to the well-known Swiss precision, there is also the imagination from Italy and the latest technology from all parts of the world. In the next few years, the small company from Ticino wants to offer sports cars and super sports cars in small, limited series.
