ABT at the legendary Goodwood Festival of Speed

What does Charles Gordon-Lennox, the Earl of March and Kinrara, have in common with Hans-Jürgen Abt, CEO of ABT Sportsline? Both men are enthusiastic about cars and motorsport and both come from families who traditionally have a soft spot for fast and beautiful vehicles. At Abt this love goes back almost 100 years, with the Lords of March it all started in the 1920 years: In England, high-quality motorsport has been cultivated since the early days of automobile construction. So was Frederick Gordon-Lennox, the grandfather of today's Earl, a successful racing driver. On its grounds, Gordon-Lennox 1936 hosted the Goodwood Festival of Speed for the first time. In a country steeped in tradition, the event became an institution and itself an icon for car fans who flock to Chichester from everywhere.

A central part of the event is a mountain route near Goodwood House. There you can admire racing and sports cars, fast motorcycles, Formula 1 cars and automotive treasures from practically all eras. ABT Sportsline is right in the middle of it all: the world's largest tuner of vehicles from the VW Group presents itself in this worthy setting with the 620 PS strong ABT R8 GTR - and two other current highlights. At the Goodwood Festival of Speed, ABT shows the passion and expertise that has always characterized the family-owned company from Bavaria. It will be interesting to see what the public and the owner of the house will say about these special cars.

The legendary Goodwood Festival of Speed takes place from 11. to 14. July 2013 takes place, further information about the event is available at www.goodwood.co.uk. After the festival you will of course also find an extensive picture gallery at www.abt-sportsline.de.
