Alfa Romeo Giulia: Number erotic to the order start

Alfa Romeo announces prices for the long-awaited Giulia.

You don't just see light at the end of the tunnel for all Alfa fans, you can almost hear engine noises. Before we can provide you with the first driving impressions of Alfa Romeo's new Giulia, there is now actually a date for the order start.

From 10. May Alfa dealers will experience a hectic rush when customers flock to the house to order a car. Then the order books for the middle-class sedan open.

The Alfa Romeo Giulia will be available with a 2,2 liter turbo diesel, which will be available in three power levels with 100 kW / 136 horsepower, 110 kW / 150 horsepower and 132 kW / 180 horsepower. For the first time, the only petrol engine presented is the Quadrifoglio cover animal with the 375 kW / 510 PS strong 2,9 liter V6 bi-turbo petrol engine.

The basic equipment simply means Giulia and brings in addition to a radio with 6,5 inch screen and automatic air conditioning with two-zone control also already various helpers with: collision warning system with emergency brake, lane departure warning and cruise control are ex-factory. However, what the standard 16-inch alloy wheels on the beefy Alfa will look like is only to be seen in a car rental fleet.

33.100 Euro costs the 136 PS diesel. With 150 PS, 34.100 euros are due, making Giulia 700 euros less than a comparable BMW 318d. These are the expected self-confident prices, the reborn Alfa Romeo wants to be understood as a serious premium candidate from the cradle.

Above the basic model ranks the Giulia Super in the price list. Interesting in this model - 1.800 Euro more expensive than the base - are the fabric / leather combination of the interior and the larger infotainment with 7-inch screen. With 17 inches, the alloy wheels have an 2,54 centimeter larger diameter, plus there is chrome-bling-bling on the window frames and parking sensors on the rear bumper. While the 136 PS base engine is only available for the Giulia without the suffix, the 180 PS diesel is linked to the super model.

A navigation system costs the same extra charge as bi-xenon lights. LED low beam is not on offer.
We can now talk about the sports seat with leather / Alcantara, red Statknopf, carbon fiber decor and an active front spoiler, but the top model Quadrifoglio interested in one thing: The 510 PS strong petrol engine, which was designed by Ferrari engineers for Alfa Romeo.

Even more than the 4C produced in homeopathic quantities, the Giulia Quadrifoglio will serve as an image carrier for the whole brand. A stake of money, A BMW M3 with a manual gearbox only costs 800 euros more - but loses at least at the ice cream parlor with an output of 431 PS, whose 79 is less than that of the Alfa. Let's put the price back in the brighter light (end of the tunnel and so on): A Mercedes-AMG C510 S, which also delivers 63 PS, requires the transfer of 84.549,50 euros.
