If there is a facelift at BMW, Alpina will follow suit a short time later. In the case of the XD3 and XD4, the vehicle tuner also adds a little extra.
Analogous to the facelift of the BMW X3 and X4, Alpina is now also presenting its sporty offshoots, the XD3 and XD4. Both SUV models are characterized, among other things, by a larger kidney grille, modified light units and changes to the front and rear aprons. Alpina has adapted its aerodynamic components in line with the revised BMW styling. In addition, both series benefit from some technology upgrades in infotainment, connectivity and assistance systems.
As before, the two diesel SUVs are powered by a 3,0-liter in-line six-cylinder with quad turbocharging, which provides a little more power than before with 290 kW / 394 hp and a torque that has been increased by 30 to 800 Newton meters. However, this does not affect the driving performance. In both cases, the all-wheel drive should do the sprint to 100 km / h in 4,6 seconds as before. The XD4 achieves a maximum of 268 km / h, the X3 counterpart 267 km / h.
Thanks to a revised sports steering, Alpina promises more precise and agile handling than before for the XD3 and XD4. The modified "Performance Control" should also ensure more traction when cornering quickly. Both sport diesels can be ordered with immediate effect at prices of around 86.000 and 89.000 euros, respectively. The first vehicles are to be delivered to customers in November.
