The perfect driving experience: it's about more than just a car. It's about passion and pure craftsmanship. From the smallest screw to the seating position, from the drive to the tire. The driving experience that makes every trip anew an experience depends on every little detail. And a good tire has a decisive part in it, after all, it establishes the connection between the vehicle and the road. Nevertheless, it is about more than the perfect interaction of the components with each other. What matters is values like empathy, precision or innovation. In six video contributions, Michelin looks over the shoulder of various people - from engine builders to watchmakers - and introduces their values. Values that show your passion for the cause.
The love for the material
You can just do your job - conscientiously cold - or you can feel empathy for the product. Like the tailor of a leather jacket. For him, the leather reveals the personality of the person who once wore the jacket, absorbing the memories of his life. Their signs of use show in a way the character of the wearer.
The same is true of tire design: Designers must be able to put themselves in the driver's seat when developing a tire. Decisive in the development of the right feeling - just like when tailoring a great leather jacket.
Technical achievements
Often, when we see a musician, we think that the music is just in his blood. That his perfect play of an instrument is a gift. In reality, this looks a little different: The everyday life of a musician is characterized by many practicing and his resulting technical skills. Passion and expression can only be transmitted to the listener this way. There are parallels in tire development. Individual components must be put together in such a way that they create something unique that no one else can create - a true Michelin tire. But it also takes a lot of effort, such as material science. Only then can properties be brought to their maximum.
The pure passion
AMG: Three letters that are closely linked with Mercedes-Benz. What's more, AMG stands for performance and engines that are built on the principle of "one man, one engine". Behind this lies the pride and joy of an employee who accompanies the aggregate process from start to finish. His reward is the signing of the drive. Although a tire developer can not sign a tire, there is not one single method of development. A roundling has to undergo many tests, some of which are done manually. Only by working with experienced colleagues can the precision of the design process be guaranteed. After all, Michelin not only designs tires for everyday vehicles. Accordingly, this does not require everyday testing.
The production of high quality
Achieving high quality is understood as a process and can not be learned from now on. For example, the deliberate selection of materials for the production of spectacle lenses. The better the raw product and the better the subsequent grinding, the better the final product. Followed by permanent quality controls, nothing can go wrong here. This is no different with tire production: only the best materials and the respect for the material create the basic requirements for a first-class product.

This high precision is also extremely important in tire manufacturing. Every groove, every dimension, every block, every channel and every profile has to be developed with the utmost care in order to meet the high quality standards of Michelin.
Innovation - The desire for more
You know it: you go to your favorite restaurant and always order the same thing. Always the Pizza Calzone or the number 52 on the card. Fortunately, the cook knows nothing about it, otherwise boredom would come in pretty quickly and nothing new would be created. Yet, this professional field is blessed with great respect for the product - the ingredients. Only the experience with the respective product increases the ability to create the court again and again at a consistent level. The knowledge of aromas is enormously important. Tire development also temporarily leaves the path of the familiar and continues to research. Unusual material combinations mean that a new product is not always created. But with the knowledge from the laboratory, the experience of ingredients and molecules, the developers always manage to improve the properties of the tires and make innovative ideas a reality.
