Aston Martin DBX - SUV is coming in 2019

Now we finally have certainty. Aston Martin builds an SUV. The British have taken a lot of time for their own SUV model. The competitors have been on and off-road for a long time, sometimes with a big lead. Here is the most important information about the Aston Martin DBX.

A name for the exclusive SUV has also already been found. As already described, it is Aston Martin DBX. The DBX was tested at the Wales Rally, a motorsport event for rally vehicles. As is usually the case with an SUV, it also found its way off the beaten track.

He stirs up a lot of dust, even before his official appearance

The initials DB stand for "David Brown", who took over the company in 1947 and sold it in 1972.

According to Aston Martin, he should have a wide field of activity. From the ice desert of the Arctic to the hot dune landscapes of the Orient, the Alpine passes, to the German autobahns and the Nürburging. At least that's what Aston Martin's press release says.

The abstract foliation in the British zebra look is striking. This should obscure the shapes of the DBX somewhat. Nevertheless, the external appearance can be defined quite well.

#Don't Crack Under Pressure

The Aston Martin DBX is to be built in the new factory in St. Athan in Great Britain. Unfortunately, there is not yet any more information about the British SUV. The photos show that the radiator grille is reminiscent of the typical design of the sports car manufacturer. It remains to be seen whether this styling element will actually appear in a production SUV.

The initial euphoria is somewhat limited, despite the stylish brand slogan "#Dont Crack Under Pressure". It just looks how we imagine an SUV in the premium segment to be. Only the rear has something that draws attention. Looks like two spoilers. One comes over the roof, the other appears to be an extension of the trunk lid. However, the two exhaust tailpipes protruding from the bumpers look interesting and promising.

CEO Andy Palmer said, “The new St Athan factory will also be ready for the electric future. It will become the – Home of Electrification –.” This could also be a statement about the drive of the DBX. Perhaps the Aston Martin DBX will be a hybrid or even a fully electric vehicle? We'll know more in a year, because it's due to be presented to the public at the end of 2019.
